1. Findings

Figure 1 illustrates the profits by Mojo in Hong Kong and Singapore from 1994 to 2001.

1.1 Singapore

In the first two years, there was a steady growth of profits and they stabilized in 1995. The profits dropped sharply from 1996 to 1998. In 1998, the profits levelled off at HK$30 million. However, this was followed by a sudden decline and in 2001 profits fell to their lowest point of just HK$10 million. The reason for the rise of profits was due to the favorable Singaporean taxation policy in early 1990s while the decline of profits was caused by the competition from Malaysia mid/late 1990s.

1.2 Hong Kong
From 1994 to 1997, the profits soared and reached the peak in 1997. However, the profits slumped from HK$60million to HK$30million from 1997 to 1998 and reached the lowest point in 1999. From 1999 and 2001, the profits jumped suddenly from HK$20million to HK$40million. The explanation for the steady rise was due to the growth of China market.

2. Table

Table 4 shows the satisfaction level with working conditions among senior and junior staff.

2.1 Equipment

Around three quarters of senior staff are satisfied with the equipment while a quarter of junior staff are contented with the equipment. It is due to there is not enough printers provided for junior staff. This may result in low working efficiency of the junior staff.

2.2 Office Furniture

Three quarters of senior staff express satisfaction while below a half of junior staff are satisfied with the office furniture. A probable reason for this is the office furniture is old and uncomfortable, especially for the armchairs which are nonadjustable. This may lead to health problems.
